About this deal

Over the last year we have had to intervene in a few situations where we've noticed carabiners not done up properly, or carabiners being crossloaded when lowering climbers. The Peak District is one of the oldest national parks and a super bouldering destination in England.

That’s what we specialise in! Just get in touch and we will happily tailor an itinerary to suit your requirements. Join Hari Budha Magar, a double above-knee amputee, and Krish Thapa, an ex SAS mountain leader, as they share their incredible story on how they plan to conquer Everest next year. Carabiners are designed to be stronger when loaded lengthways than they are when loaded across. Loading across will result in reduced strength. Wow - we are super excited and honored to be hosting two truly inspirational characters for our first Winter Lecture of the season - Hari Budha Magar and Krish Thapa as they share their incredible story on how they plan to conquer Everest next year. The Peak District has a wealth of bouldering venues available and over the course of a busy day we’ll visit a few locations. There will always be route choices suitable for everyone from beginners through to experienced climbers. You will be challenged at the right level to suit you. Our bouldering days are all about inclusivity. All participants for this course must be over 16 and under 18’s must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Who Will Be Looking After Me?Bouldering is one of the purest forms of climbing and the Peak District National Park is a world class venue. It’s the perfect combination for a great adventure. Bouldering is also one of the fastest growing aspects of climbing. Add to that the easy accessibility of the Peak District National Park and the well established visit infrastructure (our Hope Valley Guide will give you some useful info if you are a new visitor). Believe us, in this area we really do have it all. What Is Bouldering? The name Stanage is a contraction of Stane (or Stone) Edge. Despite being set in a landscape of similar features, as long ago as folk began naming things, Stanage was simply itself: The Stone Edge. Neolithic remains below the edge tell a tale of constant human activity over the last 5,000 years, with the ancients no doubt using the caves along the edge and becoming comfortable with vertical movement along the way. Another location within Burbage with lower grades is Haggar Tor. For bouldering newbies, it's a great place to practice landings more than solving problems. It offers low-level difficulty with lower probability of problematic landings. Just make sure your pads are in place and you bring a spotter along!

The Spring Boulders sit in a boulder-field close to the Lower Tier Boulders. To be avoided during prolonged wet weather (= quagmire !) there is a host of lower graded (below V4) problems, many are featureless slabs and require a delicate all body climbing style – great for honing your arsenal of bouldering moves!

The existing system is broken, do we try and fix it, or do we make significant changes/replacements This is the last post (sorry, we missed 2 days which is why we are stopping at 10!) in our series which we hope has provided some interesting information and highlighted some key safety points to help you in your climbing this yearTo sign a waiver form, just go to farpeakclimbing.co.uk and either create an account or login if you have one already! Please also bring a set of waterproofs as the weather can change significantly over the course of a day. The Northern End is more broken with a few bigger buttresses; Crow Chin, Marble Wall and the Stanage End would be the popular 'best bits' on many lesser crags.
